As UVA’s Thomas Jefferson Professor of Mathematics and chair of the College of Arts & Sciences’ Department of Mathematics, Dr. Ken Ono has been working with the University’s varsity swimmers by analyzing acceleration data to determine how the swimmers can shave seconds, or even milliseconds, off of their times in competition. Dr. Ono previously worked with Olympic Gold Medalist Andrew Wilson, prior to his Olympic success in 2021.
