Purpose & Methodology
This document reviews a process implemented to develop a unified pipeline development dataset to be used as part of the MDC 2050 sub-allocation process. In summary, this process merges three different data sources by identifying duplicates. It preserves the names of development sites, when available, in the underlying datasets. The result of this assessment is an estimate of change by MAZ by use type for each MAZ. This dataset will be used as the potential development dataset for the sub-allocation process, representing development in the pipeline. This approach, including a summary of input datasets and processing completed to unify the three datasets, is outlined below in Figure 1.

Residential Pipeline (Projects in Units Only)
This map reviews residential potential projects, described in the number of residential units of change. Click on each dot to reveal the source of the data. The “project_names” field lists the names of all development projects associated with this point. Note that these names are for all development: residential and non-residential. Note that in some cases, projects names are not provided in the underlying data. This is most common in the RER permits dataset.

The following two tables summarize potential changes by municipality for those estimates provided in units. Each table is presenting unique projects. They are not two different perspectives of the same dataset. The “project_names” field lists the names of all development projects associated with this point. Note that these names are for all development: residential and non-residential.

The following table presents pipeline development summarized by municipality and land use for projects that are represented in square feet. This dataset would be added to the unit dataset summarized below to get total development.
