Cost centers and main suppliers network

This graph represents main cost centers and main suppliers in my small 5-people company. It was interesting for me to see - in visual form - which suppliers are connected to which cost centers and with which suppliers the most of transactions occur.

Data set

The data set was prepared by retrieving invoices’ data from my accounting system. All the transactions took place in 2014 and 2015 r. The suppliers with less than 3 transactions are combine in one node called ‘INNE’. (Otherwise the network would be unreadable).

The costs centers are presented as orange ovals; the suppliers are yellow.

Main observations:

  • The highest number of suppliers are connected with ‘OFFICE’ cost center.
  • Some suppliers are connected with only one cost center (like ATM & HostEurope), some of them are connected with more than one or even more than 2.
  • The most frequent transaction are between hosting providers (ATM, HostEurope) and telecoms (POLKOMTEl, ORANGE, T-MOBILE). This is understandable as my company gets at least 1 invoice from each of them every month.
