Introduction About Myself
Hello, my name is Colin Goodman, I grew up on the west side of Cincinnati. I am a third year business analytics major and minoring in finance. Also, I enjoy watching sports and spending time with my friends and family.
Academic Background
- 2020 High School Graduate (Oak Hills High School, Cincinnati, Ohio)
- Currently majoring in Business Analytics (University of Cincinnati)
- Minoring in Finance (University of Cincinnati)
Professional Background
I currently work part time as a sales and operations associate at Dick’s Sporting Goods. My day to day tasks include:
- Picking, packing, and shipping hundreds of orders
- Auditing the stockrooms throughout daily procedures
- Equipping and considering each customer with excellent service and insight on products that would best suit them.
In addition, I am also pursuing an internship that is focused on programming and business analytics for the summer.I have a few interviews planned, and I am eager to gain more experience and knowledge in the programming and analytics field.
Experience with R
All of my experience with R comes from what I have learned through this course and a few other courses I am taking this spring:
- Data Mining
- Vectors and Sequences
- R Packages
- R Markdown, R Notebook, R Projects
Other Analytic Software Experience
Before taking this course, I have not had any experience with R or Rstudio. I experienced other analytic software such as:
- Excel and Spreadsheets
- Python
- Access
I gained much of my knowledge from Excel and Spreadsheets on my own and from other analytics courses, and I experienced the Python and Access software through the Digital Tech In Business course my freshman year.
Through my little experience with R, I find it very intriguing and always wanting to learn more about the software and the capabilities that come along with it.
