I decided to run my sentiment analysis on Reddit specifically the r/anime sub-Reddit. This social media platform is one build around cheerful communities with sometimes overly enthusiastic users in each community about there fan bases and opinions.
This sub-reddit can be found by using the link here to r/anime
This is a top level view of what the scarped data set looks like.

This table contains 100 different users posts from the r/Anime Sub-reddit, in order of most up votes. This shows that as of what was trending when this data was collected. Data collected includes the number of up votes, Title of post, the post content, the name of the sub-reddit and a link to the source post.
Diving into this sub-reddit I was interested to see how the words used would reflect the communities emotions and sentiment of words.Such as if this community is one build around dissing one one another or about being kind and positive to everyone. I will be doing this by taking a look at the feed from the sub-reddit and performing a sentinel analysis on the collected data.
With this data I wanted to figure out what the most commonly used words were. I organized all the words in order from most to least used then filled to just the top words. The following graphic excludes some words such as those in the stop words and items that may be related to links and that are not actual words. This is the graphic of the top 10 most used words on the r/Anime sub-reddit.
The results of this does not surprise me as the word Anime is most used in the Anime sub-reddit. Then all the other words can be related back to the platform itself and the users talking about things such as episodes and sending links of pictures back in forth between one another.
As prompted at the beginning of this, we can look into how the top words used and us lexicon sentiment to create a graphic. The following graphic shows the results of this analysis.
We can see that a majority of the user comments on this sub-reddit do appear to have a possessive backing showing further evidence to the type of community this is.
It seems that overall this sub-reddits sentiments are mostly positive. In order to improve analysis I would recommend getting more reviews along with possibly comparing r/anime to other similar sub-reddits and lastly looking at the data a different times of the year such as when the release reason comes around.
