I have chosen two datasets for this assignment purpose:
1. Zonal Annual Means
2. Global Temperature Anomalies
What are the X and Y axes in the charts below?
X-axis represents the timeline (which I took from 1881 to 2014)
The reasons for such selection, becasue number of years are differing in these two cases.
Also there are missing data in first and last rows (i.e. 1980's and 2015's which I simply ommitted)
Did I use a subset of the data? If so, what was it?
Yes, I took subset on monthly (January through December) data for each year
And, Mean Annual Temperature of the series (AnnMean of J-D)
Are there any particular aspects of visualization?
1. Hover over the series (a month or AnnMean of J-D) to see the intractive vizualization of the data.
2. You can also select a seried from the Drop Down List below the X-axis
3. When you hover over the series of data, you can also see that in the top left corner, legend appeas which shows the mean of that selected series.
What do you think the data, and your visualization, show?
1. There are few outliers in annual as well as zonal means.
2. After 1980, the spread of temperatures (monthly) as well as annual means have become wider (in fact rapidly wider)
3. There is a increasing trend of temperature after 1980.
