How often do I use my credit card each month?

Note that it’s not how much I used my credit card YTD 2022(11mo). It varies month to month ranging from 50 to almost 100.

Which category did I spend the most?

My most spending categories are 1)Shopping, 2)Travel, 3) Food+Groceries. This is expected as I’m aware that my shopping habit and I did have few vacations this year.

Question 3

Compare shopping and travel expenses, is there any interesting pattern?

For Travel category, from the monthly trend bar plot we can see that most spending towards the end of the year and Feb. This is because towards the end of the year, people tend to exhaust their paid timeoff and because of the holidays. It’s interesting to see the spending in Feb though.

For Shopping category, from the monthly trend bar plot we can see that spendings are relevatively consistent month to month, and spiked in July. This is becuase monthly there are some fixed costs like household cleaning supplies or etc. While the spike in July reflects the ‘true’ shopping behaviors, this could be the stock up on skincare products and etc for the remaining of the year.

Question 4

How was my spending habit in each category? Any interesting relationship?

In general, each transactions’ amount is centered as relatively small amount, except for some expensive spending in shopping and travel. This is expected.
