Smoking has long been associated with health problems, with 8.6% of total disease burden in Australia being due to tobacco use in 2018, and 76% of total disease burden due to lung cancer (AIHW 2021).
This site explores the demographics of Australian smokers, with comparisons for gender and age groups to identify which of these are more at risk of detrimental health effects as well as a representation of health problems for proportions of smokers and non-smokers.
Additionally, the effects of stress factors on smoking occurrence were explored to provide ground work to model possible factors on smoking occurrence.
