Australia’s Overseas Arrivals and Departures data show the arrivals and departures of overseas visitors and residents through Australian airports(Home Affairs,2018).

Instead of a count of people, this data set highlights the number of international border crossings. Most data are rounded up to the nearest ten(ABS,2022).

Arrivals and Departures in Australia:

Among the top three destinations for residents were:New Zealand, India and Singapore(ABS,2022).

Short term returns of residents in Year 2022(August):

Foreign students enroll themselves in Australian vocational education and training (VET), schools, English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS), and non-award courses.The number of enrolled students includes both new and continuing students(APH,2021).

Each month, the number of international students arriving by visa type is compared(ABS,2022).

There has been a dramatic increase in enrollments in 2022 when compared to 2021.It can be seen from the graph below that the number of students enrolled in higher education is higher than in other sectors.
