What do you hope to accomplish professionally in the next 10 years,
20 years, and 30 years?
Starting with the easiest first, in thirty years I hope to be a
professional retiree. If this is not the case, something must have gone
terribly wrong with the stock market. Even if the stock market does
well, I still may start a consultancy firm if I find my myself itching
for something to do.
Ten years from now I hope to hold an IT Architect position with
a company. During the next ten years I will also be considering pursuing
a Ph.D. or J.D. If I do pull the trigger on pursing one, I would plan to
have it completed in the next ten. I would also like to see my
retirement accounts hit the two million mark during this time. Lastly, I
would like to have at least one or more self-hosted web apps that have a
traffic average of 1,000 users a month.
Twenty years from now I would like to have a Vice President
position. I would also like to serve as a board member of a company or
non-profit. Regardless of the board position I would also like to be
involved with a technology non-profit. Something such as AI/Automation
in agriculture or working with state, county and local governments for
better access to data. On the side, I would like to have a fully
equipped CNC machining and fabrication shop operational.
