Overview

This report presents descriptive statistics for the 2022 Change the Game (CtG) report based on the ctg database. These data are merged across three collectors, with non-consenting entries, duplicates, and out-of-bound entries (with respect to time to completion) excluded.

Internal notes

@Team - I’ve used this tabbed version to keep tables from getting too dense. I think it still allows the user to flip through quickly and check out all the fields as needed. Also, here, I dropped “race” and kept to “bipoc”. I did this because 1) some race categories were relatively small, and 2) I think if someone wants to double-click on race to learn more, we can provide those data to them.

@Bryan - You’ll notice that the r code is now hidden. I can produce an internal copy with the full code for record keeping purposes. I think the doc right now is more readable without the code. I have also deleted most “I don’t know’ and”Prefer not to answer” responses since they were not often endorsed, and it improved readability to have fewer categories. Can be added back if needed.

Internal comments for each table are in red.

Change in sport-interest post-COVID

Responses to the item “How has your interest in playing sports in person changed since the loosening of COVID-19 restrictions (i.e. lifting vaccination, mask mandates)”

Greater proportion of those without sport access now and last year being less interested in sports.

Racism in sport

Responses to the item “Which (if any) of the following statements describes your experience with racism or discrimination in sport?”

Large BIPOC split wrt whether or not someone has experienced racism. But, not many people (BIPOC or not) have someone to speak to about racism. Seems this is regional too with more participants experiencing racism in N Ontario and not having someone to talk to about it

Responses to the item “How would you describe your sense of belonging to your local community?”
