Purpose of the Article

The Data Science articles goes over the top 5 most popular programming languages in data science in 2022.

Summary of Article

In no particular order, Java is first mentioned as a most widely-used and enjoyable programming languages. It’s a user-friendly languages with many libraries and resources available. Next is C++, which is regarded as the fastest programming languages and is thus applicable in the data science field’s development of cloud systems, business software, and banking software. Third, is Python, which is the most widely-used language for data science specifically thanks to its simplicity, scalability, and flexibility with an enormous amount of libraries available for developers. Fourth is SQL and NoSQL which are utilized to work with relational databases. Finally is R, which is great at handling analytical tasks and managing large and complex datasets. Out of the five programming languages mentioned, Python, R, and SQL were noted as the most desirable in 2022.

What Do I Think?

I think the article provided a great list of very relevant programming languages especially for data scientists. I personally have used Python and R for data science projects, but I was intrigued when I saw Java and C++ mentioned. I know C++ is known to be very fast, so it makes sense to have it listed, the potential of the language is great if learned fluently. Overall, with the field of data science only continuing to grow, it’s a great list of languages to focus in on for aspiring data scientists.
