Hi, I’m Randy!
I am an Engineering and Facilities Operations Manager with Target Global Supply Chain and Logistics. Additionally, I am serving Reserve Surface Warfare Officer in the United States Navy currently assigned to Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron 1 as small boat Platoon Commander.
After graduating from Purdue University, I commissioned as an Ensign in the US Navy and reported to my first ship, the USS PREBLE. Shortly thereafter, we deployed to the Western Pacific for 10 months. During that deployment, we were privileged to be first responders to the Tōhoku Earthquake and Tsunami, conducting search and rescue off the coast of Fukushima and provide assistance to survivors.
In 2014, I reported to my second ship, the USS LAKE CHAMPLAIN, and while we did not get to deploy, we did participate in the Portland Rose Festival Fleet Week and RIMPAC 2014, the first US led multinational naval exercise in which the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Navy participated.
After transitioning to the Reserves in 2015, my family and I moved to Indianapolis, Indiana.
As a Reservist, I have served in the following units and have mobilized to the middle east for a year:

In my civilian career, I have worked in Engineering Operations for Eaton, Georgia Pacific, and Caterpillar, as well as supply chain for Amazon and Target. I have also spent time in fire protection and industrial safety through Nelbud Services Group.
It was not until I began my MBA that I really decided to pursue analytics as a professional path. I had always been skilled in Excel and enjoyed using it to find patterns and decipher solutions out of operational data, but never thought about taking it further until I learned that a Data Analytics certificate was an option with my MBA.
I would not consider myself an expert by any means, but I do have experience in the following software suites:
Within the next year, I will gain further experience in the following software suite:
