Introduction To Me!

Hello! My name is Gia and I am from a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio called Twinsburg! I am a fourth year student at the University of Cincinnati with a major in Marketing and a minor in Business Analytics. The reason I decided to mix these two studies together was to pursue my love for creativity, but also pursue my skill in analytics. I have always been a very analytical person, so I felt that this combination would provide me with the most success! A few of my hobbies include:

Traveling
Hiking
Soccer
Tennis
Swimming in the ocean/ pool
Hanging out with friends and family

Academic Background

Highschool at Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio)
Currently pursuing B.S. in Marketing (University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio)

Professional Background

My life as a professional has not started yet, but I have had the opportunity to intern and co-op through my college career. My first internship was in Accounting (that was my original major) at Powell Electric in Canton, Ohio. Needless to say, I hated Accounting. I learned a lot in that internship, but the biggest was that I NEED to change my major. My co-op that I had last spring was awesome!!! I loved it so much. I was a marketing intern at Forward Edge in Sharonville, Ohio. I gained so much valuable experience. Some of my accomplishments and day-to-day activities included:

Increased engagement by 35% on average and increased accounts reached by 49% on average across all social media accounts in one month
Created captions for all social media posts and plans content through Monday.com
Created social media graphics with Canva for Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn
Completed a social media report every month that consisted of impressions, clicks, trends, and website traffic

Experience with R

I have no prior experience with R. My college roomate is in Engineering, so I have had the opportunity to see her use it when we are working on homework together, but other than that I had no famialiarity or understanding of this coding software.

Experience with other Analytic Software

I also do not have any prior experience with other Analytical Software. To this point in my college career, I have no had to use any type of coding. That is most likely due to the fact that I have only taken BANA 1 and 2 so far for my BANA minor. I have heard that Information Systems is doing coding now, however when I took it (during covid) that was not a requirement. Therefore, this is my first time ever doing something like this.
