Hello! My name is Grace Bare and I grew up in Columbus, Ohio. I love to be outdoors and explore. Some of my favorite activities are traveling, hiking, and kayaking. I have hiked all over the country, but the most challenging hike I’ve ever done would have to be Angels Landing in Zion National Park. That hike is not meant for people that are scared of heights. I just recently bought an inflatable kayak to take everywhere as well. So far the only place I’ve taken it to is Red River Gorge, but I plan on taking it to many other places.
I graduated from UC in April of 2022 with a double major in finance and operations management. Once I graduated, I still didn’t know what I wanted to do. I knew I liked numbers and manipulating them to tell stories, but I didn’t know if I liked working in all the financial statements. Dr. White was my professor for one of my OM classes and gave a presentation about the MS BANA program, I thought it sounded perfect for me.This is how I decided I wanted to go back to school for my masters. I wanted to look into one more option before ultimately deciding what I want to do.
I’ve had two internships throughout my college career.
CDO Magazine - I worked with a bunch of fortune 500 companies in putting together global data summits and giving out awards, Kroger being one of them.
Aware - Aware provides a software to companies that can ingest all their employees messages on teams, slack, zoom, etc. and provide a health score to the company based on the connotations of words being used in those messages. It helps companies have more insight into their work culture and if they need to change anything. I do financial and pricing analysis here. This means I help out with financial forecasting, determining how to price their product, and occasionally create dashboards for other departments to understand the data.
I have no experience with R
Excel- I have nearly four years of experience with forecasting and creating visualizations in excel
PowerBI - I’ve been trying to teach myself PowerBI, because I think that’s where a lot of data visualization is heading. I’m pretty mediocre at it, but could create a dashboard if someone needed it.
