Introduction of Me!

Hello! I’m immigrant from Russia. I’m father of 3 boys. I’m part-time UC student in MS BANA program. For the past 10 years my primary focus and interest was around organizational development and building capabilities in Sales departments of various FMCG companies. One of the key reasons I decided to invest in my development in UC program is to become “guru” in Data Literacy and getting most value out of data. I’m on the right in orange t-shirt I was born in the city in the middle of Volga river. I worked in Moscow, Russia for 15 years. I’m living in Alexandria, Kentucky for over a year now. Before that I lived in the Netherlands as I was on international assignment there.

Professional Background

Currently I’m Global Trade Spend Business Lead in Group office of Perfetti Van Melle company. In US this company known for confectionery brands such as Mentos and Airheads. My day-to-day work is to deploy Trade Spend management tools and processes aligned with so called Global Template. I did deploy it already in US, Russia, Iberia (Spain and Portugal), Italy, Philippines and UK. Currently I’m working with Indonesia and Poland teams. Most of the time it’s project management and change management activities. I have over 20 years of experience. More details could be found in my LinkedIn profile.

Experience with R

We were requested to complete few R courses in LinkedIn learning before classes started. That was my first experience with R. I did know about it’s existence but used Python in my Data Science discovery before.

Experience with other analytics software

It might sound strange but MS Excel was enough for me to resolve any analytic task at work. It’s my primary tool right now. Although I was using SQL, VBA, MS Access, Cognos Improptu in the past. I’m currently using Tableau and MS Power BI mostly for visualization.
