The data visualization shows the average flight departure delay in minutes from the three airline carriers with the most departures from airports in the New York City metro areas (e.g. JFK, LGA, and EWK). Across carriers, departure delays are shortest between September through October which precedes an increase in November through the end of the year. The departure delays increase during the summer and end of year holiday peak travel periods.
