Post Draft Power Rankings 5/17

Teams were ranked by 3 league members and then were averaged together.

Number 10: Hawk and Ball Torture

Average Ranking: 9.7

Hawk and Ball Torture will be looking to bounce back from an 8th place regular season finish last year where the team suffered a multitude of injuries. Hawk and Ball Torture will have a much different look this season after trading away players such as Christian McCafferery and Stefon Diggs. Our panelists expect them to take a step back.

Rookie to Watch For:

With a cloudy situation in the Seahawks backfield, the clear pick here is Drake London. London will be hoping to step up into the role vacated by both Calvin Ridley (Suspension) and Russel Gage (Bucs in FA). His main competition for targets will be second year man crush TE Kyle Pitts and UVA alumni Olamide Zaccheaus. Expect a good rookie season from London if the Falcons have a semi competent passing offense with former number 2 overall pick Marcus Mariota or 3rd round pick Desmond Ridder behind center.

Number 9: Kodak Attack

Average Ranking 9.3

Kodak Attack is coming off a semi surprising 5th place regular season finish last year and will be looking to build off of that success. Seems like our panelists aren’t big believers as their average ranking was the second lowest in the league.

Rookie to Watch For:

The Kodak Attack traded back multiple times in the draft acquiring more capital. Their first pick was James Cook of the Buffalo Bills who may be able to carve out a receiving back role early on. Running back Tyler Allgeier of the Falcons may have more success as a between the tackers back in a bad Falcons offense so look for some early touchdowns carrying the football.

Number 8: Team connormckec

Average Ranking: 7.7

Team connormckec is coming off of a 9th place regular season finish and a win by .01 over the Mixon Maulers in the toilet bowl. The team is projected by our panelists to finish around the same spot in 8th place this year.

Rookie to Watch For:

Team connormckec’s first draft pick was Christian Watson of the Green Bay Packers. The Packers are looking to replace a bunch of lost targets in the form of Davante Adams and Marquez Valdes-Scantling. While Aaron Rodgers is notorious for not targeting young players he doesn’t trust, the team just doesn’t have that many options to throw to so look for Watson to at least replace MVS’s production.

Number 7: UNC backfield

Average Ranking: 7.3

The UNC backfield is hoping to build off of a (unwanted?) playoff appearance last year and take a step forward into the next round this year (or maybe it’s another rebuilding year? Who knows with these guys…). With a number of draft picks, it may be enough to push them through but our panelists are projecting them to be the first team out this year.

Rookie to Watch For:

Unfortunately for the UNC backfield, the Jets took Breece Hall in the second round all but killing the value of one of the team’s namesakes. If Hall makes an immediate impact and becomes an everydown back for the Jets, this may quickly be forgotten. Let’s hope for their sake Michael Carter doesn’t vulture all of the rushing touchdowns.

Number 6: Trinity

Average Ranking: 5.7

By far our panelists projected faller, Trinity is falls from 1st to 6th in our power rankings. With Calvin Ridley out for the season and Chris Godwin coming off of a torn acl, Trinity will need to replace a significant amount of wide receiver production from a year ago. Running back Saquon Barkley having a bounce back season will be key to Trinity retaining their first place finish, our panelists just don’t see it happening.

Rookie to Watch For:

The Saints traded up in order to draft Chris Olave from Ohio State. With Michael Thomas still a question mark after not playing for nearly 2 seasons, Olave may be the Saints most talented receiver. While Jameis Winston may not win many football games, he does put up numbers and Olave may be primed to see a lot of targets.

Number 5: Mixon Maulers

Average Ranking: 5.0

The biggest winner in our power rankings has to be the Mixon Maulers who are ranked 5th after finishing last place this past season. With players such as Kyler Murray and Travis Etienne back healthy and 4 rookie wide receivers, our panelists think that the Mixon Maulers will jump back up to where they were 2 seasons ago. The biggest X factor on this team may be Courtland Sutton who was a 1100 yard receiver just a few seasons ago before getting hurt. He never quite looked like himself last year but had 776 yards and with Russell Wilson coming in and legal questions surrounding Jerry Jeudy, he may be primed to regain his 2019 form.

Rookie to Watch For:

Third round pick in both leagues, Jalen Tolbert, may be able to quickly find a role as the third receiver in a pass happy Dallas Cowboys offense. His main competition is 5th year receiver, James Washinton, who signed with the Cowboys on a minimum deal. If Tolbert can beat him out, look for a lot of early production from him.

Number 4: 4th and 20

Average Ranking: 4.0

The league winner last year, our panelists are projecting a slight step back from 4th and 20. This may be due to an aging roster and other teams improvement. 4th and 20 will be looking to find success with virtually the same roster as last year.

Rookie to Watch For:

4th and 20’s only draft pick was Tyrion Davis-Price, but he was dropped soon after for Wan’Dale Robinson. While the Giants have a crowded wide receiver room filled with mediocre players, Robinson was a second round draft pick so he may be in line to receive some targets.

Number 3: Ballin’ since I was a jit

Average Ranking: 3.3

Runner up to 4th and 20 last year the 3rd place projection is more about other teams getting better than this team getting worse. Another question may be the play of Davante Adams, now on the Raiders. Will he be able get the same quarterback play from his college teammate Derek Carr that he was from Aaron Rodgers.

Rookie to Watch For:

Ballin’ since I was a jit’s only draft pick was Brian Robinson, who may vulture some touchdowns away from Ballin’ since I was a jit’s other running back Antonio Gibson. Don’t expect too many carries this year from Robinson unless some injuries occur in the Washington running back room.

Number 2: The Legion of BOOM

Average Ranking: 1.7

The second place regular season finisher last year, our panelists expect a similar finish this year. Look for Tyreek Hill to take a potential step back in Miami just from the fact he no longer is in the Chiefs offense. Another potential concern may be quarterback, Dak Prescott, losing his favorite target in Amari Cooper to the salary cap.

Rookie to Watch For:

Chiefs wide receiver, Skyy Moore, will be one of the options to replace the production lost in the Tyreek Hill trade. Rumors came out early on this is who the Legion of BOOM was targeting and they got their guy.

Number 1: 2 Browns 1 Kupp

Average Ranking: 1.3

The clear favorite going into this season, 2 Browns 1 Kupp will be looking to capitize on trades made after last season. With a new look veteran team, 2 Browns 1 Kupp isn’t all in on this season, but it may be close. They will be hoping all of their players stay healthy. This team is talented enough to make the playoffs, even with injuries, but the playoffs can be a random draw. We’ll see if going all in was the write call.

Rookie to Watch For:

2 Browns 1 Kupp’s only rookie is Titans running back Hassan Haskins. They’ll be hoping Haskins can step in and soak up Derek Henry’s production if he goes down with another injury. 2 Browns 1 Kupp will be hoping that Haskins never sees the field.
