Websites and their Social Following, Employees, Traffic and Tech Spending

I am going to look into various aspects of different websites relating to their social presence, number of employees, and traffic that these websites receive. I am going to explore if there are any relationships between these variables. I will also look into where these websites are located to give myself a better overall understanding of the data at hand. Considering how expansive the web is, and how important it can be for businesses and organizations to have websites I wanted to dive into some of the facts relating to websites.

This website that I am scraping lists 40 different websites from around the world and gives information about each. There are many more websites that I could download and look at but it would require making an account.

In the future if I wanted to get a broader picture of websites as a whole and any possible relationships I think it would be beneficial to create an account for this website so that I can access many websites information.

From this visual above we can see that most websites listed on this website have ‘Very High’ traffic. There are also a few websites that have no data for traffic.

This visualization above shows us the relationship between # of Employees and the Traffic each website gets. This is similar to my expectations because it looks like ‘Very High’ traffic occurred most on websites that had greater number of employees.

From this visual above we can see that most websites listed on this website spend at least $5000 on Tech. I honestly thought this number as a whole would be a lot bigger. I thought more websites would be in the 10,000+ range.

This visualization above shows that the United States has the most website listed on the site. I think it’s sort of funny that there is a website listed that is located in Norway… interesting.

This visual above supports my expectation that if a website has bigger social following I would expect there to be more traffic on the site.
