I’m sure everyone who hasn’t has access to their phone or any kind of social media have missed out one of the most odd yet incredibly intriguing moments of the Grammy’s this previous Sunday. Will Smith giving Chris Rock a palm to the face over a joke made towards his wife. I figured why not compare the two stars’ popularity a little over half of the week after it’s occurrence?

As you can see, we get a result of a vast majority of both containing no mention of any hashtag, let alone the few hashtags that did, barely contained them. Despite, Chris Rock reigns over this category with an added 1 hashtag over than the solo unfavourably tweet of Will Smith’s. Onto the second question:

As following the last graph from the previous question, the outcome is the same, despite a much more looming victory on the stats of Chris Rock still being hashtagged with the Oscars. Although the Oscars scored big on this altercation it may be a behind the scenes hassle with the possibility of incoming sues, especially towards Will Smith. Last Question:

With the final visualization, we see our graph ranged from 0 to 300 characters per tweet. For Chris Rock’s visual we see the majority of tweets in the are of 150 characters with some outliers on both ends as predicted. However, on Will’s side his graph does reside in the same area, he does have areas like 160, and 100 characters over Chris Rock’s mentions. Overall it’s clear the situation has died down for the most part. The day of the incident definitely would have had these same coded visualization in a much higher uproar. Regardless, I would the results I calculated interest nonetheless.
