You’ve spent a lot of time on the data and analysis. Now we begin to refocus your efforts on the writing.
Go back and review the comments I gave you to the prospectus and preliminary results. Choose which ones to work on. If you have questions, let me know. You also provide any update results (tables/figures). At this stage, you should now have a “Results” section where you can discuss the results. You will also want to provide a summary of the results in both the abstract and the introduction.
You should also create an appendix which we will put various tables, figures, and write-ups that don’t necessarily belong in the main body of your thesis.
Respond to each comment. I suggest using a different color font so that it is easy to distinguish the original comment and your response. The responses can be brief. Here are some examples:
You do not need to incorporate each comment into your draft. However, if you disagree, you should provide a rationale. If you want to work on a comment in another revision, simply state
Continue to maintain well organized and document DO files for your analysis. I should be able to access your DO files and replicate your results.
