TN Vendor Payments App

Transparency is being demanded of government at all levels. The Public Interest Research Group (PIRG) has been grading states on how transparent (online) their spending is for several years. Each year PIRG publishes it's "Following the money" report, assigning and explaining the transparency grades for states. "Following The Money 2014" can be seen here.

Tennessee makes vendor payments available on the Transparent Tennessee website.
Three complete fiscal year .csv files can be downloaded: FY2012, FY2013, and FY2014.

Reading each CSV file into R, they can be joined into a single data frame. Then if you want to see how spending has trended over the three years for an agency:
