Gambling Data Report

This Report will provide analysis of the expenditure (in millions of dollars) of different forms of Gambling in Australia during 2014-2015 with data sourced by the Queensland Government Statistician’s Office. The forms of Gambling being analysed have been broken down by four variables; state, gambling category and gambling type, to provide a thorough assessment of the net amount lost across all forms of gambling.

## 0.005 1.139 20.459 258.340 137.418 5744.291 48The Expenditure or the gross winnings (GW) of gambling operators is measured by factors of central tendency. Such factors of central tendency allow us to identify the trends and distribution within a data set.
The mean of the GW indicates that between 2014-2015 Australia has made an average revenue of $258,340,000 from Gambling wagers. Must be noted that outliers have not been calculated and as such the mean may be incorrect.
The median indicates the middle value within the dataset and is $20,495,000. As the max value is 5,744,291,000 the median is indicative that the dataset is highly positively skewed.

Evidenced in the above boxplot the expenditure from Gambling across Australia is significantly positively skewed.Moreover evidenced in the histogram and normal curve it is extremely evident that the datas distribution is positively skewed.
