Ryan Air’s Business Model that is generally shown as an example of a good business model. This business model is discussed in the HBR article “How to Design a Winning Business Model” by Ramon Casadesus-Masanell and Joan E. Ricart (https://hbr.org/2011/01/how-to-design-a-winning-business-model).

The same business model is shown in another format which displays the theories as well. As you can see in the diagram below, it is very difficult to trace the links when theories are included.

To overcome the problem of showing the choices and display theories interactively only on demand, I used visnetwork package in R to create an interactive business model.
The interactive business model representation has the following advantages
1. One can hover over the link to see the theories displayed. For e.g. if you click the top most link between “Low Commission Travel Agents” and “Low variable cost” you will see the description of the linkage
2. When you click on a particular choice, all the closest choices are also highlighted. Double click again to see all the nodes and links.
One can also use the dropdown button on Top left to select the choices for further analysis
Hopefully, the interactive model will make it easier to study the business model of Ryan Air.
