One of the positive aspects of this dataset is its well-labeled fields of it. I believe it’s important that for a data set to be useful we have to understand what the data is. Therefore, this specific data set does a good job providing information about column names and members in a column which makes it quite easy to understand and work with. It also has important elements such as dates and geographic data that will be helpful when creating visualizations or analyses. However, I believe that for this specific data set it could be better if the dates were more specific instead of the years of when these occurred. This way, it could be useful to analyze or look for any trends to see if any specific hate crimes happen more during specific months when religious or cultural celebrations, etc are celebrated and draw conclusions from it. If I were to explore this dataset further, I would study and explore the number of incidents versus the number of arrests and compare the two. I would also like to explore further the months of each year for when these occurred. Lastly, after seeing the output from this hate crimes tutorial I would further explore the different crime types and Anti-age crimes.
