This data is gathered from the 2020 Volkswagen annual report
This data includes all the information that Volkswagen presents to its shareholders. It ranges from production of cars from VW, Audi and other manufacturers in america and other parts of the world. Along with this it includes the amount of sales and how much they made in the year. It also shows data about how much VW spent on production and other costs.
We wanted to look at:
What is the most produced car by VW as a company?
Do brands have a 1:1 ratio for cars produced to sold?
Do brands have a 1:1 ratio for cars produced to delivered?
Do brands have a 1:1 ratio for cars deliveries to sales?
Which brand sold more cars overall?
Which model of a car in a brand sold the most?
All of Volkswagens brands
What is the sales to production Ratio for each brand?
The reference line shows what a 1:1 ratio would be
We can see outliers on the graphs
We can see clearly that VW and Audi don’t have a 1:1 sales to production ratio
Vw should strive for a 1:1 ratio because it means that they aren’t wasting time or money on extra cars they aren’t selling
Each graph lets you see the amount of cars produced and how many they sold
Do brands have a 1:1 ratio for cars produced to delivered?
Here we can compare a couple of variables and factors found in the data.
We can see the diversity of the brands and the models they offer
we can see if brands are producing more cars but also delivering cars to people, companies, etc.
This is a collapsible tree graph with all the data combined. The values at the end of the tree are the amount of each model that company produced.
When we expand the tree all the way we can see the same result as the last graphs, the VW Tiguan is the most produced car.
This graph also lets us see how many models each brand produced in the last two years.Do brands have a 1:1 ratio for cars deliveries to sales?
The reference line is a 1:1 ratio
we can see VW selling more cars than delivering them (Consumer pick up possibly)
we also can see Bentley delivering more cars than selling them (Donations or Overstock being shipped)
This is a Circular packing graph with 1 level of heirarchy or simply 1 level.
we can use this so see which models sold the most but also see how each brand compares to the rest.
from this graph we can see that most of the VW models are produced the most.We not only see VW with more sales than deliveries, we see Skoda and Audi on the same path.
this isnt a bad thing but it is worthwhile to mention or think about what is going on between sales and deliveries. We see Bentley doing more sales in 2020. We also see a decrease in sales for most brands, most likely due to the pandemic. we also see less deliveries happen in 2020.
