Data from Maryland Department of Health, as of 2022-02-24 and only for children 5-11 years. See Annex for detailed note about the data sources and methods.
SUMMARY
Among 5-11:
1. To date, 33% of the children received one or more doses. 28% received two doses.
2. In the last 7 days, 64 children received their first dose. The weekly number of children getting their first dose appears to be decreasing, following the initial peak and several weeks of steady uptake.
3. In the last 7 days, the most common source for the first dose vaccination was Pharmacies, vaccinating 41% of the young children.
4. Vaccination rate is higher among older children, but not by large differences.
5. Vaccination rates for Hispanic, non-Hispanic Black, and non-Hispanic “other” children are substantially lower than those for non-Hispanic White. Vaccination rate for non-Hispanic Asian children is the highest.
Note
1. Race/Ethnicity data are missing in about 4% of the children.
2. Population by race for 5-11 is estimated, based on the race distribution for 5-9 years (https://rpubs.com/YJ_Choi/pop_MD).
