The data appears to contradict itself because the percentages of women who smoked and those who didn’t smoke are very similar. One would think that the percentage of smoking women who lived 20 years would be much lower than that of the non-smoking women. These contradictory results could be attributed to the sample of the study. Every person is genetically different and some people could have stronger systems to resist the negative effects of smoking, while maybe the non-smokers died of other causes not related to smoke inhalation.

Table command organizes the data in a way a subset would, except with just one command. It also generates 3 tables which makes reading and interpreting the data much simpler and more time efficient.
The numbers could have been interpreted to make the claim in the advertisement true because the data shows that there is not much difference in mortality between smokers and non-smokers over a 20 year span.
