A power station, also referred to as a power plant and sometimes generating station or generating plant, is an industrial facility that generates electricity from primary energy. Most power plants use one or more generators that convert mechanical energy into electrical energy in order to supply power to the electrical grid for society’s electrical needs.
This dataset contains China Investment Data of Power Plant for 2007-2017.
There are multiple types of power plants for energy generation. Nuclear, coal and wind are just three types of energy that are used to generate electricity in power plants across the world. However, as a number of countries continue to move away from high-polluting fossil fuels towards low-carbon alternatives, the dynamic of how and where power plants operate is constantly changing.
Types of power plants for energy generation:
Nuclear power plants
Hydroelectric power plants
Coal-fired power plants
Diesel-fired power plants
Geothermal power plants
Gas-fired power plants
Solar power plants
Wind power plants
Tidal power plants
