I am a current student at the University of Cincinnati in the MS Business Analytics program. I am originally from Mason, OH, a city about 30 minutes of Donwtown Cincinnati. The proximity to campus is a large reason I decided to attend the University of Cincinnati and it has proven to be a great decision ever since. In my free time I enjoy being outside with my friends. No matter if it’s Spikeball, Ultimate Frisbee, Football, or any other sport, I’m always down to run around outside. I have attached a photo of me at the bottom of the document in case you want to put a face to the name (kinda- it’s an old picture, but it does the job).
I entered my Masters Degree straight out of undergrad so I don’t currently have any full-time professional experiences. During my time in undergad, however, I was able to garner professional experience through internships. Here is a little about my different internships:
Kroger | Financial Analyst Intern | Conducted analysis to better understand if proposed Kroger Gas Stations or Stores should be constructed or not. I still hope to travel to Kansas one day to get gas at the first gas station I approved.
Kellogg’s | Sales Intern | Spent the summer trying to understand how we can calculate the ROI and understand the success of sampling events conducted. Sampling events are when companies pay to have samples of their product given out at their store. This was really interesting as it forced me to be creative and not just anlaytical.
JP Morgan Chase & Co. | Global Finance and Business Management Summer Analyst | This internship was cut short due to COVID, however, it was an amazing experience where I got to understand the complexities of a bank and analyze if a hypothetical Chase branch should be opened or not.
AMEND Consulting | Analyst | I worked as a consultant here for 8 months between the end of my undergrad and start of grad school. This was a great opportuinty as I was able to help drive change at large multinational firms through analytical work.
I was first introduced to R in courses during undergrad. I was, however, able to improve on my skills during my time as a consultant as I developed a model for a property development firm to help understand what they should rent their properties out at in R. Despite this project and some classes I still feel like a beginner in R as there is so much to learn and so much to know. I will never fully grasp all the possibilities in R, but I think I have a foundation that I can build off of.
Excel is probably the software I know the best, but I am not incredibly familiar with many other softwares. I have used a few such as Tableau, PowerBI, and Python in the past, however, I would only consider my self to be competent in PowerBI of those 3.
I really don’t like taking pictures, so provided above is a rare picture of me from Freshman year of Undergrad
