Academic Background
I graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a bachelor’s degree in business economics last spring and decided to stay one more year to pursue the MS of Business Analytics. I took a handful of graduate courses as an undergraduate and am expected to graduate from the MS program this spring. I plan on working full time when I graduate from the program and may pursue another degree later in life.
Professional Background
I have never had a full time job because I started the MS Business Analytics program directly after graduating from undergrad, but I have completed a handful of internships. I have worked as a Supply Chain Logistics Intern at kroger, as a Business Analyst at a small consulting company called AMEND, as a Marketing Research Intern at Ipsos Insights, as a Production Intern at Comedy Central, as a Consulting Intern at 84.51* and as a Product Marketing Intern at Equinix. Here you can see my Linkedin for descriptions of these roles.
R Experience
As an economics major in my undergrad, I used R in a handful of classes. I first learned how to use R in an econometrics class during my senior year. I also used R in a statistical computing class for the MS Business Analytics program that I also took my senior year of undergrad. I have not used R yet in a professional setting so all of my use has been academic. I would not consider myself to be an expert in R by any means, but I do feel relatievely comfortable in it.
Experience with Other Analytics Software
I have used Excel numerous times during my internships and am most comfortable doing analysis in it. I also have experience in Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, and also took a class in SAS and SQL as part of the MS Business Analytcis program. In summary, here are the following applications I have experience in:
- Excel
- Tableau
- SQL
- SAS
- Power BI
