1. Who are you?

Hello everyone, I am Yuqiu (Teresa) Wang. Nice to meet you!

2. A synopsis of who you are

I am currently in Business Analytics Master’s of Science (MS) program in Lindner College of Business at University of Cincinnati.

I am also on the track of MS- Data Science certificate at UC.

I am fascinated by the message embedded within data and the computational progressive to extract, process and analyze the information.

3. Academic Background

I had my Bachelor’s in Economics at Nanjing University in China and Master’s in Economics at University of Cincinnati. I gained much quantitative foundation and a macro level perspective from my Econ background.

4. Professional Background

I gained much business acumen and understanding through my internships in financial institutions (commercial banks and insurance).

5. Experience with R

I have more than 1.5 years experience with R now. I greatly enhanced my analytically and techniqual skills by completing course works and projects using base R and R packages for data wrangling, visualization, regression or predictive models and statistical analysis purposes.

In next semester, I will get more exposure and hand-on exercise on data mining topics.

6. Experience with other analytic software

I had great exposure and practice of SQL, SAS through data management and statistic computing course assignments and projects.

I also picked up Python by myself via Coursera and data camp course for data manipulation, visualization and classification and cluster algorithms for segmentation purpose.
