| Hello! My name is John, I’m a Graduate student in the M.S. Business Analytics program at the University of Cincinnati working towards a career in data science! |

I completed a series of internships throughout my undergraduate career which exposed me to analytical work in a variety of industries, totaling 1.5 years of work experience. I worked in Toyota North America’s SP&A aftermarket division utilizing analytics to study and improve warehousing processes and visualization practices. After being laid off during the COVID-19 Pandemic from an internship, I expanded my expertise by finding a job as a Software Engineering Intern at Tata Consulting Services, where I worked with a team of remote interns to develop a fully functional peer-to-peer live streaming service. After completing my undergraduate degree, I worked at AMEND Consulting as an Analyst, implementing web-hosted Power BI dashboards to improve information flow between departments on-site with a client, as well as leveraging VBA to create automated tools that reduced manual input times by 99.5%, in addition to leveraging Machine Learning techniques to forecast sales for a nationwide produce wholesaler.
As a Graduate Student, I’m working as a Teaching Assistant for a late-undergraduate experience course in Decision Modeling for Python & Excel, where I help students to learn and develop skills in using analytical techniques to model decision-making, encompassing basic optimization, simulation modeling, mixed-integer programming, and case-study analysis!
I’ve worked in R for 3 years now and it’s by far my favorite statistical computing software to code in, data mining in R is very intuitive and it’s publishing capabilities make it possible to communicate findings quickly and concisely. I will be using R to begin my project portfolio, where I will showcase instances of supervised/unsupervised learning in Predictive Analytics, Classification, and Itemset Mining, as well as NLP.
Like every data-head, I began my experience in analytics with Excel, which is still a favorite tool of mine for model development/drafting, but I also work in Python and SQL. I am proficient in:
