Who Am I?

Personal Life

I am from Cincinnati, born and raised. I grew up with two sisters and my parents on the Westside, where I went to La Salle High School. I currently live just off campus as I work on finishing up my degree, and just found out I will be moving to Chicago after graduation this spring! I am excited to continue to work on my R and other programming skills through this class and the overall program.

Interests

  • Sports: I am a huge sports fan, especially of the Reds, Bengals, Bearcats, and Lakers. I also enjoy playing sports!
  • Traveling: I really enjoy traveling, and recently went to Peru over Fall Reading Days. I am hopeing to travel even more in the future.
  • Investing: In my free time, I enjoy following the news and learning about the markets.

Academic Background

  • Masters of Science in Business Analytics, University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, OH
  • Bachelor of Finance, University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, OH
  • Graduate of La Salle High School, Cincinnati, OH

Professional Background

I have diverse experiences throughout the co-op program at UC.
  • Molson Coors - I worked in Category Management attempting to improve advertising strategy.
  • Nielsen - I forecasted new product innovations for national CPG companies.
  • Kroger Co. - I worked in Supply Chain Analytics to optimize shipping patterns and storage in the distribution centers.

Experience with R

I did not have a lot of experience in R prior to starting the MS-BANA program, but have been working to learn not only through classes but also on my own time. I am excited to learn a lot more so that I can not only use R in my professional career but also in my own personal research/interests. I enjoy attempting to create sports models, so am excited to develop those through the things I learn.

Experience with Other Analytic Software

I have very limited analytic software experience, but most of my work has been done in:
  • Excel - both professionally and personally
  • Python - used professionally at Kroger
  • SAS - used academically through the MS-BANA program
