The data contains information on the employees of the city of Cincinnati to include their gender, race, salary, and several other variables. This particular data set is up-to-date as of 13 September 2021.
I want to understand the gender gap of the city employees. The Following graph compares the number of male and female employees employed by the city. Within the the bar the colors indicate what pay group they are a part of. The groups include Police, Management, General Employment, Fire, and CCL.
The data indicates that males almost double the amount of females employed by the city. The paygroup “GEN” and “MGM” are generally equal in terms of number of male and female employees. The major difference comes in the occupation of Fire and Police. These fields tend to be male dominated and is likely driving the gender disparity portrayed by the graph.
