Phylogenetic Diversity and the North Andean Block Conservation

Prioritized areas for conservation based on Phylogenetic Diversity Indices (i.e., AvTD, Warwick & Clarke 1992) in the North Andean Block. Cells are categorized in five classes, Q1 to Q5, being the Q5 five cells those with the highest values of Phylogenetic Diversity, thus, are important for conservation purposes. The map have the following layers :

• Cell Classes: Each cell class (Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4, Q5) in different layers
• NAB: Polygon of the North Andean Block (NAB)
• Phylo Beta Div: The Clusters of Groups (C1, C2, and C3) found given the Phylogenetic Beta Diversity values
• Q5 line: The contour of the Q5 cells
  
• PA: The Protected Areas (PAs) used in the analyses. If you click on each PA’s polygon, the will be displayed.
