The Race for Second Place
A league as good as the Race for Second Place deserves a fun pre-season report! What follows is a look at how the league has evolved over the years, how each manager has fared, and other fun stuff to look back on. We’ve had a consistent group of managers over the past 6 years, so I’ve included Seth and the Emmerts in the inaugural report. For future seasons Lester and Jon will be added as well. I hope you all enjoy looking at the various tables and charts Jeff and I put together, and please suggest other cool stuff we could add next year!
Who is in the League?
Manager History
Here’s a timeline of the managers in this league since the first season in 2011. The competition has been strong since I joined in 2015, and I have no doubt it’ll be even tougher with the additions of Lester and Jon!
Where Does Everyone Live?
This league started out mostly in the Mid-Atlantic region but has slowly expanded west. We’re located in a combined 8 states + DC, and are just missing a presence in the Mountain time zone.

Historical Standings

Individual Manager Stats

You can compare these two charts to see who you’ve been lucky or unlucky against over the years. The Score Distributions chart shows the distribution of scores each season. It clearly displays those high weeks where everyone scored touchdowns and those forgettable weeks where nothing went right. The Highs and Lows tab breaks down everyone’s highest and lowest scores, biggest victory and worst defeat, and closest matchups. It also shows everyone’s best and worst finishes in the standings.
