The number of ‘shares’ was used as a proxy to determine the popularity of each news article.
- We can see that on Saturday and Sunday there is a spike in number of shares across categories which implies popularity is higher in the weekends
- Business Articles are more popular in the weekend whereas articles related to Social Media are the most popular during weekdays
- Entertainment and World related Articles have the least popularity irrespective of the day of the week
- From these insights, we can see the categories that are performing well and strategically invest and divest
