USArrests.We conclude that assault crime increases with population size until you reach approximately 150 assaults per 100,000 residents and approximately 7,200,000 residents. As population in states slowly taper off, the assault measurement becomes more sparse.
The lower right hand corner of the graph shows a deviation from the rest of the data. There are four(4) states with populations between 4 and 5 million residents, but have a high rate of assaults in 1973 at over 250-400 assaults per 100,000 residents.
