** Either win or learn
Hi Classmates! I’m super excited to be a Lindner MBA student. Who am I? A learner. Someone who enjoys the process of learning, not just the outcome. I grew up in Cincinnati, earned my bachelor’s degree quite some time ago, and worked as an entrepreneur/business manager ever since. I am fascinated by ideas and innovation—an analytical thinker with a foundation built on solid teamwork, respect, and authenticity.
Although challenging for most, the pandemic provided a unique opportunity to shift my career focus, allowing my brother to assume 100% of the business. This opportunity allowed me to pursue the Lindner MBA and dive headfirst into data analytics, something I have wanted to do for many years.
Master of Business Administration (MBA), University of Cincinnati, (expected 2022)
Graduate Certificate in Data Analytics, University of Cincinnati, (expected 2022)
Bachelor of Science (BS), Marketing, Bradley University, Peoria, IL, (1992)
Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM), (2018)
For the past 27 years, I have owned and operated small businesses. Most of that time was spent in custom manufacturing producing permanent store fixtures for consumer brands and large retailers. I worked in tandem with national brands and retail marketing managers, mainly in the home improvement industry.
I’ve developed processes and strategic plans, implemented technologies, onboarded and led teams, and managed daily operations. I feel very fortunate to have gained such a diverse skill set in virtually every aspect of a business, such as:
Strategic Operations and Marketing, E2 Merchandising, Inc, (2010-2020)
Ownership stakeholder responsible for customer-facing operations, supply chain strategies, P&L management, marketing, and complex national rollouts.
Business Development & Operations, Kin Products, Inc., (2002-2010)
Senior leadership role with accountability for national accounts, process management, marketing, production planning, analytics, estimating, and supply chain operations for a team of five (5) leaders and 90+ employees working across three (3) shifts.
Founder & Managing Owner, Kin Underground, Inc., (2002-2009)
A horizontal directional drilling company specializing in subsurface installations of telecommunications and large utility lines in the Midwest.
Simple Linear Regression Model: \[y = \beta_0 + \beta_1x + \epsilon \]
Estimated Regression Equation: \[\hat{y}_i = b_0 + b_1x_i \]
My formula for a reaching my goals: \[Goals = (curiosity + discipline + adaptability + humility)^{2}\]
I’m just starting my exciting journey with R/Rstudio. But I notice time seems to disappear in this class, especially when you discover a pursuit that absorbs you, energizes you, challenges you, or gives you a sense of wonder, or passion. Looking forward to soaking up more R/Rstudio skills.
