In this docment, we will look at the number of word occurrences in the 311 data using both the COVID and violation dictionaries.

This time period does not quite capture the gradual or sudden increase in the number of mentions of COVID-related words, but we can still see the spike of about 300 mentions for the week of 2020-05-03. After that, there is a gradual decrease visible with occasional spikes in a few weeks in between.
Now let’s look at how this measure will present itself when put against the city. A heatmap will be useful now:

We can see clusters JP and the Seaport. East Boston also shows lots of records with covid-related issues. Outside of Boston, Chelsea and Cambridge are also glowing with the number of these records.
