Coding goals

Since this is the first week of my coding journey, my main goals this week were to: - watch all RMarkdown videos - understand and be able to rudimentally use RMarkdown

Challenges and/or successes

Successes

  • I managed to complete all the RMarkdown videos that were uploaded
  • I was able to understand and follow the videos (although I did have some mishaps along the way)
  • Surprisingly, I had a lot of fun learning about using RMarkdown
    • One particular aspect I had fun with was playing around with the different themes (my favourite theme is still the default one though!)
  • The main way I did my best to understand RMarkdown is by following the video demonstrations and also doing some of my RMarkdown notes on it. For example:

Challenges

Some of the challenges I encountered along the way are: - I had trouble inserting both local images and images from the web because I would insert a space between “[]” i.e. I would type “! []” instead of “[]” - But I managed to solve it as can be seen below with a beautiful picture of Henry Cavill in The Witcher show:

Next steps in this coding journey

  • The next steps for the coming week includes finish watching the data visualisation videos and maybe getting started on the data wrangling videos!
