As an undergraduate student who never sets limits to myself, I always seek for challenges to overcome and cross-discipliniary learning opportunities to participate in. In my learning career, I was particularly keen on the process of exchanging opinions with individuals from different backgrounds and presenting ideas of our own. I had once attended a course with two-third of the class members being international students, I enjoyed the collision of ideas throught the discussions and worshipped the capabilities of foreign students to possess such confidence when presenting ideas. Not just the language practicing opportunity that thrilled me, but the intercultural communications as well. Aside from the interdisciplinary learning experiences, I also work currently as a research assistant in Statistics, my profession of study, which is strongly correlated to Business and Finance.
Besides initiative in academic field, I bathed myself into vigorous ecology of extracurricular activities in NCKU. Various experiences and broad connections of friendships have been accumulated through proactively participating in extracurricular activities. Furthermore, I was able to access myself to more challenging opportunities. I was invited in an department exploration camp for high-schoolers, to make a speech aiming to reduce information non-concordance between high school and university. Another useful experience is that I joined the preparation team of NCKU Bike Festival, the largest faculty exploration exhibition in southern Taiwan, organizing elites of various fields in NCKU to perform speeches to participants of the event. I am privileged to absorb knowledges and thoughts from those precious experiences and to keep myself improved consistently.
Outside of school, I take pride in my rich selection of interests. I am a huge fan of outdoor activities including hiking, free diving, river tracing and camping, I used to worked part-time in mountain climbing related business in order to gain more knowledges about it. Besides, I am also a biker who enjoys riding motorbike to some extent that others describe me as a fanatic for riding. I was even a co-organizer of a vintage bike meeting event with more than 500 bikers.
Having the intention to pursue further studies in Finance, I discovered that Faculty of Economics and Administration in Masaryk University (MU) is a perfect destination for me, for its highly praised reputation in Europe and diversified learning culture as a top notch comprehensive university. MU, offering highly interactive educating environment and wide variety of courses, welcomes exchange students around the world to explore unlimited possibilities through cross-cultural interactions. Not to mention integration of different domains as part of their course arrangements, which completely conforms to my favor of study. It is definitely a privilege to revel myself in such atmosphere.
I always picture myself as a multi-talented teenager with inexhaustible passion to diverse professions and interests; nonetheless, I still have a long way to go. One thing I could not stress my characteristic enough is that, I am ready to take on challenges and step out of my comfort zone. The exchange program is a chance to put my thought into practice, and I will make every second of the time abroad count.
