Project Overview

I Drink Lots Of Coffee, Teas, And Other Drinks From Coffee Shops So I Wanted To Take A Look At Tweets About Two Popular Coffee Chains Back Home And In Cincinnati (Dunkin’ And Starbucks) To See How Their Sentimental Values Company.

Based On The Graph, Tweets About Starbucks Have More Sentimental Value Than Tweets About Dunkin’. The Biggest Difference In Values Between The Two Coffee Shops Is Positive Sentiment: Tweets About Starbucks Have More Than 500 More Sentimental Values Than Tweets About Dunkin’. Tweets About Starbucks Do Have More Negative Sentimental Values, Too, Which Is Interesting And Is Contradicting / Shows Customers’ Experiences Span Over The Whole Spectrum.

Do The Number Of Favorites A Tweet About Dunkin’ Receives Change With The Time Of Day?

Some Tweet(s) Popped Off With Lots Of Favorites: Around 30,000 Favorites In The Early Morning … WOW! I Wonder If A Celebrity Who Is Partnered With Dunkin’ Tweeted Something? The Other Times Of The Day Received Thousands Of Favorites, But Look Much Smaller Compared To The Number Of Favorites In The Early Morning. For A Coffee Shop, The Early Morning Makes The Most Sense, Because That Is When I Think The Most People Purchase Coffee.

Do The Number Of Favorites A Tweet About Dunkin’ Receives Change With The Time Of Day?

I Actually Had To Increase The Number Of Tweets About Starbucks I Was Scraping In Order To Capture Tweets From Different Parts Of The Day, And There Were Still Lots Of Tweets Just In The Second Half of The Day. These Are A Little Easier To Compare Because There Is Not One Extremely High Column Like With Dunkin’. Unfortunately, The Early And Late Mornings Are Not Included To Get A Direct Comparison To The Tweets About Dunkin’. Also, I Would Think Most Tweets About A Coffee Shop Would Be In The Morning When Most People Drink Their Coffees, So I Cannot Confirm Or Deny The Hypothesis. Tweets In The Early Afternoon Received The Most Favorites. Maybe These Are People Running To Get Their Cup Of Coffee To Give Them The Surge To Finish The Second-Half Of The Work Day. Also, Starbucks Could Be Popular Around This Time Because They Have Their Frappuccinos, Iced Teas, Lemonades, etc. That Are Not As Caffeinated And Are Refreshing For People Getting Out Of School, For Example.
