Tipiti: The new Word Prediction application!

• Tipiti is the new next word prediction (or autocomplete) - NWP application that will revolutionize the way you type.

• The application was created using the Natural Language - NLP approach, in which the application predicts the next word of a phrase the user is typing.

• Word prediction uses language modeling, where within a set vocabulary the words are most likely to occur are calculated - See this link for more details.

Two benefits that will results from using Tipiti:

1. According to some studies, this type of applications could improve the spelling of children and even people of any age who suffer from spelling disorders.

2. Could improve the typing experience on small mobile keyboards.

• Tipiti uses a database containing about 300,000 n-grams (a contiguous sequence of items from a given sequence of text).

• When the user types a phrase, the application looks it up in the database and predicts the next word the user will type based on the last few words (up to 6 in a long sentence) and based on a calculated frequency for that phrase. The application will use the phrase with the highest frequency found in the database.

• If an exact match is not found int the database, the application will do an approximate string matching or fuzzy match

• If the phrase is not found with the exact or fuzzy match, then a message “Please try a different phrase” is presented to the user.
