For detailed data, click on a census tract to see data inputs, which are described below. All Data comes from the 2015-2019 wave of the American Community Survey.

Input Variable Key:

Percent_Family_LowIncome- Percent of Families Below 80% of County Median Income. Percent_Rent_Burdened- Percent of Renters experience rent burdens (>30% of income on rent) Percent_Students- Percent of residents enrolled in college or university Percent_Of_Color- Percent of residents who are not non-Hispanic White

Scoring Tracts for Gentrification Risk

FAM_INCOME_RISK: If Percent_Family_LowIncome exceeded County average of 29.40%, a point was added to risk score. RENT_BURDEN_RISK: If Percent_Rent_Burdened exceeded County average of 44.57%, a point was added to risk score. STUDENTIFICATION_RISK: If Percent_Students exceeded County average of 9.86%, a point was added to risk score. RACISM_RISK: If Percent_Of_Color exceeded County average of 76.38%, a point was added to risk score.

This created a score for each tract's vulnerability to gentrification, ranging from 0 to 4. These levels were labeled as follows: 4: "Very High" 3: "High" 2: "Low" 1: "Very Low" 0: "None"
