Hi PSYC3361,
Welcome to my Week 3 Learning Log!
1. Goals:
- To complete the Data Wrangling sessions by Dani (Say Hello to your data & dplyr, or a dance with data)
- To not run into any issues that meant I had nothing to put into my learning log (I know…optimistic!)
- Stay calm despite being sooooo out of my comfort zone!
2. How did I go at achieving my goals? (Challenges/Successes):
- Not well…mostly challenges!
- I got through the saying hello to your data session without any issue, but at some point, something happened ( I think it was in the dplyr, or a dance with data session).
- I just kept getting the following error message. Despite continuing a little further with the session, I just wasn’t getting any output because the same error message came up. I have posted on the Slack Coding page to see if anyone can help me and I’ll try the Q&A session if I really can’t get anywhere. My final option is to just completely restart the session.

- However, I’ll show what I did up until then!
- I replaced emojis with arguments and functions…I think?

- I found means and standard deviations using the pipe operator to simplify the code

- Fixed up some more emojified code…but hit another error code:

- I did manage to draw a plot of the Distribution of responses across stimulus band, despite this error message

- And separated responses into expert handwriters and novices

- From here onwards, I just hit error messages!
3. Next Steps
- I’ve posted my question on the Coding page of Slack
- If I don’t get an answer, I’ll try the Coding Q&A on Tuesday
- If still no luck, I’ll restart the session with a new project :)
