This data set looks at 12 vairables of Vinho Verde red wine for Portugual, one of my personal favorite variants of red wine. There has been much debate about what qualities make some variants of wine better than others. Although palette cannot be captured numerically, there are still other variables that may be key indicators of quality wine.
The three questions I would like to ask are:
Does citric acid and pH signifigantly effect quality? Is alcohol a predictor of quality wine? What is a predictor for alcohol in wine? Based on this model, what is the predicted quality of Château Lafite Rothschild (best red wine in the world)?
wine = read.csv("winequality-red.csv")
plot(wine)
Although there are not obvious correlations between the variables, I believe it would still be interesting to see that these numeric measures of the wine have little to do with the quality. Also, there are relationships within the density and alcohol content of the wine. There seems to be a negative relationship with alcohol and density a possible positive relationship with alcohol and citric acid although weaker. The most interesting relationship is if alcohol is positively related to quality.
