Week 14: Model-assumptions quiz [answers]
A total of 31 students completed this quiz (status: 2022-02-21 09:18:26). The correct answers are highlighted in green in the bar plots below. If you don’t understand why an answer is correct, or why an answer isn’t correct, please ask on Teams.
Part 1: Models and parametric tests
Which statement about models is incorrect?
Which of these statements does not apply? Statistical models are machines because …
What is a property of a parametric model? Parametric models …
Is it true that t-tests, ANOVAs and linear regressions are all parametric models?
Part 2: Properties of the normal distribution
Discrete data can be normal distributed!
Ooops! What’s going on here? Discrete data are non-continuous / categorical and therefore cannot be normal distributed. However, I do see why so many answered TRUE. If you watched the entire lecture before answering the quiz you probably thought that discrete data are normal distributed under the CLT. Awesome, this shows real learning and you can be proud of yourself. So let’s just agree both answers are correct here and move on :)
