It is believed there is a family of signed languages which share the northeastern part of India, Pakistan, Nepal and perhaps parts of Bangladesh with perhaps several hundred thousand signers. As with all signed languages there are essentially no affixes and the parameters of handshape, orientation, movement and location are combined with nonmanual markers to express adverbial nuance and modality.
